Jan 10, 2019 · The Win 7 PC Firewall and found that “File and Printer Sharing” will not stay set. The Win 7 Network and Sharing Center “File and Printer Sharing” will not stay set. Also Network Discovery is turned on. The Win 7 Services are set as follows, a few were not started: o Computer Browser - Automatic o DHCP Client - Automatic o DNS Client

I modified the default domain GPO on my default domain policy to enable remote administration and open port 445 IN & OUT in the firewall (which was the only service being blocked by domain policy and using port 445 on my domain.) Note that I'm using a Windows 7 PC as the file server; other versions might need slightly different configuration.
